LG has developed the first terrestrial DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) phones that supports GSM (both 2G and 3G), GPRS, and WCDMA technologies, with the shipment scheduled for 2006 before the World Cup soccer game launches in Germany. Equipped with a 2.2-inch LCD display, the T-DMB phones feature video communication and TV broadcasting functionality. The embedded mobile-XD engine enhances image quality, allowing users to watch TV for up to three hours.
